Biden Gets Stiff Armed, Humiliated In Front Of The Entire World

There’s an argument that what has just occurred is another result of Trump derangement syndrome.

In February 2023, Brazil’s new left-wing leader, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, met with President Biden, AOC, and Bernie Sanders.

From NPR:

President Joe Biden and Brazil’s new leader, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, have a lot in common these days. “Both our democracies have been tested of late,” said Biden during a sit-down in the Oval Office.

It was just over a month ago that hundreds of extremists stormed Brazil’s capital. Supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro ransacked the Congress, Supreme Court and the presidential offices.

The comparison with the attack by supporters of former President Donald Trump on Jan. 6 are often made. Both Trump and Bolsonaro, close allies, continue to spread false claims of electoral fraud.

During the visit, Lula said, “The United States and the rest of the world can count on Brazil in the fight for democracy and the fight for the preservation of the Amazon rainforest.”

Well, just a few months later, Lula seems to have other plans.

On April 13, 2023, the Brazilian leader is headed to Beijing to close some large trade deals regardless of the tension between Washington and China.

The left is not happy. From the Washington Post:

In the Chinese capital, Lula will meet with Xi Jinping, the country’s top leader, who is pushing to upend the U.S.-led international order and position China as a diplomatic power broker. Brasília, meanwhile, is helping Beijing boost its currency, the yuan, over the dollar.
Lula has declined to join the near-universal condemnation of the Russian invasion. Brazil supported a U.N. resolution last month calling for peace and demanding Moscow withdraw troops from Ukraine. But weeks later, Lula refused to sign on to a declaration from President Biden’s Summit for Democracy that condemned Russia’s assault on its neighbor. A senior adviser said Lula did not believe the forum was the appropriate place to discuss the war.

The Dems lined up behind Lula because Trump supported his rival (we are not going to attempt to get into the mess of Brazilian politics. This report would be a million words). But that position seems to have come back to bite them.

Meanwhile, in Ireland…
