There was a HAZMAT event at the White House on Sunday, July 2, 2023, and now officials are trying to keep a lid on it.
Upon the discovery of an unidentified item, the White House grounds were evacuated.
In a public statement, a Secret Service spokesperson said, “U.S. Secret Service Uniform Division Officers located an unknown item on the White House complex. As a precaution, the White House grounds were evacuated, and the DC Fire Departments Hazmat team responded.
A HAZMAT team flooded the area of 18th St and Pennsylvania Ave blocking the roadways around the White House.
DC medical officials later declared that the item was “non-hazardous” and reported it was cocaine hydrochloride.

Cocaine hydrochloride is a nostril-numbing agent used as a local anesthetic.
There were no indications that the nasal spray form was found and it has been assumed that it was discovered in its solid structure which would mean it was cocaine. Or plainly, the HAZMAT crew found a bag of coke.
