On August 16, 2023, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent a request to the National Archives and Records Administration, wanting unrestricted special access to unredacted emails and documents during the period Joe Biden was vice president of the United States.
Comer made the request because he is particularly interested in a conversation about Biden’s phone call with then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. According to Comer, the email was to “Robert L. Peters,” a name that was reported as a pseudonym for then-Vice President Joe Biden. That same email included Hunter Biden being CC’d.
“I believe that one reason that Hunter was CC’ed on those emails, where Joe Biden was using a fake name, is so Hunter could prove to the Ukrainian oligarch that help is on the way,” Comer said. “We heard Devon Archer say that the owners of Burisma were squeezing Hunter Biden, saying we need help from Washington.”
“Who do you think they were referring to when they were talking to Hunter Biden — who they said was dumber than their dogs, who was a drug addict, who had no experience, that ‘we need help from Washington’? Who do you think they were talking about?” Comer continued. “And here we see, now, evidence that shows Joe Biden didn’t have a wall between the government and his son’s shady business dealings. He was copying him on foreign policy to let him know ahead of time: ‘Help is on the way. We’re gonna go in there, and we’re going to fire that prosecutor who is trying to bust you for corruption, son.’”
“It is all a pattern here,” Comer added. “This is something we’ve been talking about for a long time. The Democrats, their friends in the media, trying to say there is no connection to Joe Biden. Every day there is more connection. I think these emails today are consistent with the timeline that shows exactly what the real quid-pro-quo was in Ukraine. It was Joe Biden.”
It just so happens that amid Comer’s bombshell record request White House counsel Stuart Delery has decided to step down.
In a statement, Biden called Delery “a trusted adviser and constant source of innovative legal thinking.”
“From his work during those early days on COVID-19 and efforts to get life-saving vaccines to the American public to the implementation of major legislative accomplishments such as the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Inflation Reduction Act, he has been an integral part of my team and will be missed throughout the Administration,” Biden said.
With House GOP investigations heating up it appears that Delery is hitting the road.
