Recently, New Mexico Governor Lujan Grisham issued a public health emergency and suspended the legal carrying of firearms.
“No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute. There are restrictions on free speech, there are restrictions on my freedoms,” said Lujan Grisham.
“When New Mexicans are afraid to be in crowds, to take their kids to school, to leave a baseball game — when their very right to exist is threatened by the prospect of violence at every turn — something is very wrong,” Lujan Grisham said in a statement.
She issued the order after an 11 year was killed by gun violence.

Below is an extended clip of the governor talking with the press after issuing the order. Note that toward the end, the Governor admits that criminals won’t follow her order. She knows this is punishing law-abiding citizens.

State lawmakers have already called for the governor to be impeached and even liberals like David Hogg and Rep. Ted Lieu have denounced the order.
Internal polling must be TERRIBLE.
Or else Republicans found out how Democrats cheated and 2024 may be a functional election.
