Biden Endorses Kamala After Decision

Well, it has been a heck of another weekend.

In a recent development, President Biden has decided to halt his re-election campaign, a decision that has been under consideration due to speculation about Vice President Kamala Harris’s potential to take on Donald Trump in the race. This interesting tidbit was revealed by three of Biden’s aides who were involved in the internal discussions about his future plans.

At the age of 81, President Biden decided to step aside due to party pressure and endorsed Harris. His personal worries, however, mirror broader concerns among Democratic leaders about Harris’ ability to spearhead the party this coming November.

There’s even a rumor reported by Politico that Pelosi gave Biden three weeks to drop out.

“Nancy made clear that they could do this the easy way or the hard way,” said one Democrat familiar with private conversations who was granted anonymity to speak candidly. “She gave them three weeks of the easy way. It was about to be the hard way.”

On the day Biden announced he was dropping out, there were several reports that Biden endorsed his Vice President Kamala Harris. However, on the day that followed, an interesting report was published by Axios.

The report noted that Harris is at a critical point. At 59, she faces the challenge of proving her doubters wrong as she strives to clear the field of potential contenders for the Democratic nomination.

The report also detailed that Harris is terrible to work for highlighting her high rate of staff turnover, with only five out of the 47 staffers listed in 2021 still working for her this spring. This contrasts sharply with Biden’s first term as Vice President that exhibited much greater staff stability.

The relationship between the Vice President’s office and the West Wing has not always been smooth. There have been instances when White House aides felt that Harris did not fully cooperate with the team and avoided risky tasks. For example, she hasn’t done anything at the border after Biden designated her “Border Czar.”

Biden’s original letter did not endorse Kamala Harris, that was done later on X (formerly Twitter).

As of the writing of this post, Biden has not appeared before a camera to make a statement.

There have also been reports that Jill Biden went on a two-hour tirade and that Hunter Biden has dropped his lawsuit against Fox News.
