Democrats Break Into ICE Facility, Face Potential Charges
In an unprecedented move that should shock every law-abiding American, two House Democrats – Representatives Robert Menendez, Jr. and Bonnie Watson Coleman – along with protestors, decided that the law simply doesn’t apply to them as they broke into the Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey. This wasn’t just a casual drop-in. They stormed the facility housing dangerous criminals, including murderers, rapists, and members of MS-13 gangs. When did “congressional oversight” start involving breaking and entering? And why are Democrats so desperate to protect illegal immigrants with serious criminal records that they’d risk breaking federal law?
“Members of Congress storming into a detention facility goes beyond a bizarre political stunt and puts the safety of our law enforcement agents and detainees at risk. Members of Congress are not above the law and cannot illegally break into detention facilities. Had these members requested a tour, we would have facilitated a tour of the facility. This is an evolving situation” – Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin
The situation escalated to the point where Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested for trespassing. The Department of Homeland Security isn’t taking this lightly, with spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin threatening potential arrests of the House Democrats involved. According to McLaughlin, body camera footage exists showing members of Congress actually assaulting ICE officers. Imagine that – elected officials physically attacking federal law enforcement officers while attempting to illegally access a secure facility housing dangerous criminals who shouldn’t even be in our country.

Fox News Reveals the Reality Inside ICE Facility
While Democrats were breaking down doors and allegedly assaulting officers, Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy later conducted a proper, legal tour of the same facility. What she found directly contradicts the narrative that illegal immigrants are being mistreated. Campos-Duffy described a clean facility with recreation areas including soccer fields and weight equipment, legal resources, and unlocked sleeping quarters. Far from being a “concentration camp” as the radical left loves to claim, detainees have access to phones, consulate contact information, and can even choose to self-deport at any time.
“They have nothing to be ashamed of. This facility is so clean. It has all kinds of recreation facilities – outdoor soccer fields, weight equipment, domino tables. It also has telephones everywhere with signs next to them of the phone numbers to reach their consulates.” – Rachel Campos-Duffy
Acting ICE director Todd Lyons provided a sobering reality check, noting that over 75% of detainees are felons. These aren’t innocent families seeking asylum – they’re criminals who pose legitimate threats to American communities. If detainees want to leave, they don’t need Democrats breaking down doors. They can simply request self-deportation, and within 48 hours, ICE will arrange a free flight and provide $1,000 to help them get settled back in their home countries. Apparently, this inconvenient truth doesn’t fit the left’s narrative of ICE as an oppressive force.

Democrats Deny Wrongdoing Despite Evidence
Predictably, the Democrats involved are now denying any violence against ICE officers. Rep. Watson Coleman called the allegations “absurd” and accused DHS of lying, while Representative LaMonica McIver claimed, “There’s no video that supports me body slamming anyone.” Of course, DHS has stated they have video evidence of the entire incident. If the Democrats were simply “doing oversight” as they claim, why not request a proper tour like Rachel Campos-Duffy did? Why bring protestors? Why force their way in? The answer is obvious – this was a political stunt designed to demonize ICE and glorify those who have violated our immigration laws.
“The notion that I or any of my colleagues ‘body slammed’ armed federal officers is absurd. DHS is lying because they know their agents were out of line.” – Watson Coleman
This entire charade perfectly illustrates the modern Democrat approach to illegal immigration – laws don’t apply when they’re inconvenient to their agenda. While most Americans understand the need for orderly immigration and the deportation of dangerous criminals, these elected officials are willing to break laws themselves to protect people who have no legal right to be here. If members of Congress are willing to assault federal officers and break into secure facilities, what message does that send about respect for law and order in America? The coming days will reveal whether our justice system still holds privileged politicians accountable when they break the same laws they’re sworn to uphold.
