Report Details Delegate Letter

There’s an intriguing scoop coming from Politico, and it is fascinating.

There’s a buzz around President Biden’s campaign as they make frantic calls to individual delegates ahead of the upcoming Democratic convention. Let’s dive into the details and see what’s really going on.

Delegates who are preparing for next month’s Democratic convention in Chicago are stating that their phones are suddenly ringing. On the other end of the line, it’s Biden’s aides. These aides are not just making casual check-in calls; they’re diving deep into the loyalty of these delegates to the president. Three delegates, who prefer to remain anonymous, have shared their experiences with Politico’s Jonathan Martin, and it’s quite a story.

The calls start innocuously enough, confirming the delegates’ plans to attend the convention and inquiring about their past experiences as delegates. But then the conversation takes a turn. One delegate recounted being asked, “Do you understand what being a pledged delegate means?” followed by, “Do you have any potential disagreements with the president?” Another delegate said the question was even more direct: “Is there any reason you couldn’t or wouldn’t support the president at the convention?” A third delegate received a slightly softer approach with, “Do you have any concerns?”

Understandably, these calls left the delegates stunned. One of them initially thought it might be a prank until checking the caller ID and seeing Delaware’s area code, 302. To make sure they weren’t alone, they reached out to other delegates, only to find out that they had received similar calls.

The reaction from these seasoned Democratic campaigners was one of suspicion and concern. They couldn’t help but wonder if this was an effort by the president’s campaign to weed out potentially disloyal delegates. One delegate felt particularly demoralized after receiving a second call with the same script, noting the apparent disorganization.

When asked about these calls, a Biden adviser denied any official outreach from the campaign itself. However, the callers did identify themselves as part of the “Biden-Harris delegate operation team,” and one delegate even shared a screenshot showing the full legal name of the campaign: “BFPCC INC.”

Adding another layer to this story, a fourth delegate received a voicemail from a “302” area code. The caller, a “delegate operations associate with Biden for President,” asked if the delegate had any questions or concerns about their role.

However, the Biden team might be on to something after Martin disclosed what he discovered was going on in some delegate chat groups. According to Martin, some delegates are now pushing for a rule change at the DNC. They want the nomination vote to be a secret ballot, allowing them to vote “their conscience” without fear of repercussions, and despite the fact that most delegates are bound to vote how their district voted in the primary.

Wasn’t it the left that told us “Democracy dies in the darkness?”

I dug up an Axios article that discusses Biden and the delegates.

The report starts by saying that in the past, “delegates have mostly played a symbolic role in recent history; this could be the year that changes.”

From Axios:

A candidate must win a majority of delegates to become the nominee, which typically happens through the party’s state primaries and caucuses.
The state delegates participate in a roll call during the national convention to confirm their choice.
The Democratic Party, has more than 3,800 pledged delegates this year who are bound by party rules to initially vote for the candidate they’re assigned.
On the first ballot, the candidate must win a simple majority of the pledged delegates to secure the nomination.

While only the pledged delegates vote on the first ballot, the Democratic Party has more than 700 “superdelegates” who can vote for any candidate of their choosing on additional ballots.
The winning nominee then has to secure a simple majority of both the pledged and superdelegates.

On top of that, of all places, MSNBC is hinting that Obama may be the one engineering dumping Joe. Now, if you are on the right that has seemed pretty obvious since the debate. But the fact that MSNBC actually aired it and said it on TV is astounding.
