Trump Goes To War With DC Judge, Defies Her Threat

This is going to be something to watch.

On Friday, August 11, 2023, Judge Chutkan told President Trump’s legal team at a hearing that the former president needs to tame his comments about the case.

“The more a party makes inflammatory statements about this case which could taint the jury pool … the greater the urgency will be that we proceed to trial quickly.”

It is the defendants, not the government, that have a right to a fair and speedy trial.

On August 13, 2023, a few days later, Trump highlighted a post critical of Judge Chutkan.

Later the President posted a quote given by Chutkan after she sentenced a 1/6 defendant in October of 2022 and called her “very biased & unfair.”

The former President also spoke out against the presumed indictment expected in Fulton County, Georgia. Commentator for NBC News, Bradley Moss was fuming that the former president was exercising his Constitutional First Amendment right.

The former president has also responded to rumors about taking a plea deal.

“We don’t take plea deals. We did nothing wrong. We don’t ever take a plea deal,” Trump said. “It’s called election inference. You know that is? These indictments are brought out by Biden who can’t even put two sentences together.”
