Tapper’s Convenient Change of Heart on Biden’s Mental Fitness
Remember when questioning Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities was treated as some kind of treasonous act? CNN’s Jake Tapper certainly does, because he was one of the chief enforcers of that narrative. For years, Tapper dismissed legitimate concerns about Biden’s mental fitness as nothing more than Republican talking points and “Russian disinformation.” But now that Biden’s decline is impossible to hide and Democrats are in full panic mode, Tapper has miraculously found his journalistic integrity and is co-authoring a book called “Original Sin” with Axios’s Alex Thompson, documenting what we conservative Americans have been saying since 2020.
The absolute gall of these media figures is breathtaking. They spent years gaslighting the American public, insisting that what we were seeing with our own eyes – Biden’s confusion, his wandering off stage, his inability to complete coherent sentences – was just political noise. Now that Biden’s poll numbers are in the toilet and he bombed during the debate, suddenly they’re breaking this “explosive” news that the White House has been covering up his mental decline. No kidding! The Washington Post even reported that Biden’s team used misleading videos to manage public perception of his health while hiding his cancer diagnosis.
CBS’s Scott Pelley Abandons Journalistic Integrity
Meanwhile, over at CBS, “60 Minutes” host Scott Pelley has apparently decided to drop any pretense of journalistic objectivity. In a fiery commencement address at Wake Forest University, Pelley went after President Trump without naming him directly, claiming the former president’s $20 billion lawsuit against CBS News is “baseless.” He even had the audacity to compare our current political climate to the Civil War and World War II, as if conservatives wanting secure borders and smaller government is somehow equivalent to slavery and Nazism.
“Why attack universities? Why attack journalism? Because ignorance works for power,” – Scott Pelley
What Pelley conveniently ignored is that his own network is embroiled in controversy for allegedly editing an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to protect her from backlash. CBS aired a preview clip that made Harris look knowledgeable on Israel, then showed a completely different response in the primetime special. Is this the “journalism” Pelley is so desperate to defend? Editing interviews to protect Democrat politicians? And this guy has the nerve to lecture us about “attacks on truth” while working for a network that manipulates it?
Media in Chaos: CBS Executives Jumping Ship
The situation at CBS News is so dire that the network is experiencing a mass exodus. CEO Wendy McMahon and “60 Minutes” executive producer Bill Owens have both resigned amid tensions related to Trump’s lawsuit and corporate pressure. Shari Redstone, Paramount’s controlling shareholder, reportedly wanted to monitor “60 Minutes” segments involving Trump – probably because she’s sick of the obvious bias. Yet Pelley stands before a group of impressionable college graduates and portrays himself as some kind of journalistic martyr.
“‘Diversity’ is now described as ‘illegal.’ ‘Equity’ is to be shunned. ‘Inclusion’ is a dirty word.” – Scott Pelley
And to cap off this media circus, a Bloomberg journalist named Jason Kao was arrested during an anti-Israel protest at Columbia University. He’s now been charged with criminal trespassing and is no longer employed by Bloomberg. The line between journalism and activism continues to blur, with reporters increasingly abandoning their role as objective observers to become participants in the very events they’re supposed to be covering. Is it any wonder that public trust in mainstream media is at an all-time low?
The Media’s Convenient Memory
The spectacular hypocrisy on display from figures like Tapper and Pelley reveals the true state of American journalism. They’ve abandoned their duty to report facts and instead have become propagandists who only tell the truth when it’s politically expedient. After years of covering for Biden’s obvious cognitive issues, they now want to be celebrated for “bravely” reporting what we all knew all along. And when they’re called out for their biased coverage, they cry that “journalism is under attack” rather than acknowledging their own role in destroying public trust. The real “Original Sin” here isn’t the Biden administration’s cover-up – it’s the media’s willful participation in it for nearly four years.
