Schumer’s Troubling Photo Op with CCP Official
In a move that has left conservatives fuming, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has been caught red-handed posing for photos with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official Chen Li. This isn’t just any run-of-the-mill bureaucrat we’re talking about here, folks. Chen Li is the Chinese Consul General in New York who has the audacity to deny China’s alleged genocide against the Uyghur population. That’s right, while the United Nations and other international bodies are condemning these atrocities, Chen is busy schmoozing with one of America’s top lawmakers.
The photos, proudly posted by Chen himself, show Schumer grinning from ear to ear at Chinese parades, including the Brooklyn Lantern Festival Parade. It’s as if Schumer has completely forgotten about the oppression and human rights violations happening on the other side of the world. Or perhaps he just doesn’t care as long as he gets to pander to a certain voting bloc.

The CCP’s Twisted Narrative
Let’s not mince words here. Chen Li, in his infinite wisdom, claims that the accusations of genocide against the Uyghurs are based on “fabricated reports” and “unreliable witnesses.” This is the same CCP that describes its “re-education camps” as voluntary, despite leaked documents suggesting otherwise. It’s a narrative so twisted, it would make George Orwell’s head spin.
Chen doesn’t stop there. He goes on to gush, “Incredible #Chinese cultural performances—so proud of Chinese Community in New York! It’s time for celebration and friendship!” Sure, let’s celebrate while conveniently ignoring the cultural genocide happening in Xinjiang. The cognitive dissonance is astounding.
Experts Sound the Alarm
While Schumer is busy playing nice with CCP representatives, experts are pulling their hair out trying to warn us about the dangers of such associations. Michael Sobolik, a senior fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council, puts it bluntly: “The Chinese Communist Party is actively seeking to weaken America from within. Elected officials shouldn’t share the stage with them; they should be working to defeat Beijing.”

But apparently, Schumer didn’t get the memo. Or maybe he’s too busy trying to score political points to care about the long-term implications of cozying up to CCP officials. This isn’t even the first time he’s faced criticism for such associations. He’s been called out before for hanging around Chen’s predecessor, Huang Ping, who also had the gall to deny the Uyghur genocide.
The Bigger Picture
What we’re seeing here is part of a broader, more insidious trend. The CCP is accused of using American voices to advance its agenda, and frankly, it seems to be working. When high-ranking officials like Schumer are willing to pose for photo ops with CCP representatives who deny genocide, it sends a dangerous message. It legitimizes their narrative and undermines our ability to stand up to Beijing’s influence.
The call for U.S. governments to counter Beijing’s influence is growing louder by the day. But how can we expect to make any progress when our own leaders are busy playing footsie with CCP officials? It’s high time for Schumer and others like him to wake up and realize the gravity of their actions. The integrity of our nation and the lives of millions of oppressed people depend on it.
Tell me again how Democrats aren't communists Chinese Consul General Chen Li posted multiple photos of him posing with Schumer on his X profile this month, including attending at least two Chinese parades https://t.co/ofaL9LBmyb
