Another Military Horror Story the Recruitment Ads Won’t Show You
While our military leadership obsesses over proper pronoun usage and climate change initiatives, here’s what’s actually happening on our bases. Army Private First Class Dewayne Johnson II was sentenced to just 23 years in prison after admitting to killing his pregnant wife with a machete, dismembering her body, and disposing of her remains in trash bags. The murder occurred at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii on July 12, 2024, after what Johnson described as a heated argument. Apparently, the Army’s sensitivity training doesn’t extend to not butchering your spouse and unborn child.
The gruesome details of this case would shock even the most hardened criminal. After killing his wife Mischa with a machete, Johnson attempted to dismember her body before ultimately using a chainsaw to complete the job. He then placed her remains in trash bags and disposed of them at a refuse center where they were incinerated. But wait, it gets worse. This military-trained killer then reported his wife missing and participated in search efforts, causing entire Army units to waste valuable training time searching for a woman he knew was already dead.
A Slap on the Wrist for a Monster in Uniform
Johnson pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, obstruction of justice, and providing false official statements – receiving the maximum penalty of 23 years in prison along with a dishonorable discharge. Twenty-three years for butchering two human beings. Let that sink in. Even more outrageous, charges of possession and distribution of child pornography were dropped as part of his plea agreement. Apparently, our military justice system believes in cutting deals with monsters who not only murder pregnant women but also exploit children.
“While no amount of confinement will ever be able to truly ease the pain of the loss of Ms. Johnson and her unborn child for her family and friends, it is my hope that Pfc. Johnson’s admissions of guilt and the information he provided as part of the plea agreement can provide some element of closure and finality for the family and all stakeholders” – Lt. Col. Nicholas Hurd
Oh, closure and finality! How thoughtful of our military leadership. I’m sure Mischa’s family feels much better knowing her killer will be out in time to enjoy his retirement. And what exactly was this “information he provided” that was so valuable it justified dropping child pornography charges? The location of remains he already incinerated? The Pentagon wants to know why recruitment numbers are plummeting while they’re cutting deals with murderous predators and treating them with kid gloves.
The Military’s Broken Priorities
During the sentencing, Johnson delivered what can only be described as an Oscar-worthy performance of remorse, telling the court: “My wife didn’t deserve that. She wasn’t trash. I hate myself for what I did, every day.” – Dewayne Johnson
She wasn’t trash, yet that’s exactly how he disposed of her – like garbage. While Johnson was busy impersonating his dead wife through text messages to keep her family at bay, he was already messaging women on dating apps and planning a future with another woman. This is the caliber of person wearing our nation’s uniform. Meanwhile, the Pentagon continues pouring millions into diversity training, gender transition surgeries, and climate initiatives while seemingly unable to screen out or properly treat dangerous individuals within its ranks. Is it any wonder patriotic Americans are thinking twice about signing up?
