The United States’ dreadful men’s soccer team is ditching our flag for a different one.
Instead of sporting red, white, and blue, the team with be sporting the LGBTQ colors.
United States men’s national team coach Gregg Berhalter said the team will “be the change” during Qatar’s FIFA World Cup event.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino and general secretary Fatma Samoura implored the 32 participating teams to “Please, let’s now focus on the football!” and “not allow football to be dragged into every ideological or political battle that exists.”
Neil Buethe, the USMNT’s Chief Communications Officer, said to the DailyMail.com: “Our rainbow badge has an important and consistent role in the identity of U.S. Soccer. As part of our approach for any match or event, we include rainbow branding to support and embrace the LGBTQ community, as well as to promote a spirit of inclusiveness and welcoming to all fans across the globe.”
“As a result, locations that we will manage and operate at the FIFA World Cup, such as the team hotel, media areas and parties, will feature both traditional and rainbow U.S. Soccer branding,” he added.
Homosexuality is illegal in Qatar – a very conservative Muslim country – and the USA is going all in.
Some have asked why the USA has to ditch the flag to protest Qatar’s stance. For example, why can’t the team place a patch on their jerseys or put the players’ names or numbers in LGBTQ colors?

The United States Men’s soccer team is historically terrible.
According to NBC Sports, the US men’s team are pathetic underdogs:
They are +600 to win in Group B, +450 to reach the quarter-final, +1200 to reach the semi-final, +4000 t reach the final, and +15000 to win in the World Cup.
In other words, the team is really bad and if they didn’t pull this stunt no one would even care they were there.
