There’s some hypocrisy going on.
Recently, the Biden team has been trolling former President Trump about “cash-on-hand” fundraising mocking him for being forced to use donated money to pay his mounting legal bills.

Well, it turns out the DNC covered President Joe Biden’s legal bills during the special counsel probe.
A report from Axios claims that President Biden’s 2023 campaign donations were used to cover his legal expenses. This was during a special counsel’s probe investigating how he managed classified documents. This information comes from people in the know and an Axios review of the campaign finance records.
The Biden campaign recently criticized Donald Trump for doing something similar—using campaign funds for legal fees. However, the Democratic National Committee, which gathers the biggest donations for Biden’s re-election, shelled out over $1.5 million to lawyers representing Biden during this probe, as per their financial filings.
In January 2023, special counsel Robert Hur started investigating after classified documents from Biden’s vice presidency were found at his office and home. From July 2023 to February 2024, the DNC paid a whopping $1.05 million to Bob Bauer PLLC, the company of Biden’s lead attorney, Bob Bauer. A lot of this was for handling the special counsel probe, including hiring David Laufman, a big name in legal circles who’s been involved in some high-profile investigations.
And there’s more. The DNC ramped up its monthly payments to the law firm Hemenway & Barnes, from $15,000 to $100,000, starting last July. Jennifer Miller, one of Biden’s attorneys, works there, and the final report from special counsel Hur mentions her by name.
The DNC is claiming it doesn’t use grassroots donors’ money for legal bills, drawing a distinction between their approach and Trump’s. They point out that Trump has sought contributions specifically for his legal battles and has spent significantly more of his campaign money on legal issues.
Gee imagine that, Democrats have accused Trump of doing something they’ve been doing for a year.
